Boarding and Grooming Software So Nobody Goes Home Unwashed
A family books a bath for their dog's last day of boarding. Somebody has to see that request, assign a groomer, and get it done before pickup. Pet Ops tracks that request from the moment it is booked to the moment checkout would let it slip through.
Requested at Booking, With No Groomer Yet
When an owner adds grooming to a stay while booking, Pet Ops creates a real grooming appointment right away. It has no groomer and no time assigned yet, because nobody has looked at the schedule for that day. Staff get a notification so the request does not sit invisible.
That appointment is a full grooming appointment, not a checkbox on the boarding reservation. It goes through the same statuses, the same drawer, and the same invoice as any grooming appointment booked on its own.
Attached to the Stay, Not Locked to One Kind of Stay
The request is linked by the kind of stay and the stay's own id, rather than a direct link to one specific boarding table. That is what lets the same attachment cover a boarding stay, a board and train enrollment, or a day boarding booking, without three separate integrations.
Day boarding runs as a boarding booking priced by the day rather than by the night. It is not a separate record in this product, so a day boarding stay with a groom requested at the end already works through the same attachment as an overnight stay.
A board and train enrollment is the other stay kind the same attachment supports, so a dog finishing a training program can go home freshly groomed the same way a boarding guest does, through the same request and the same queue.
A Reasonable Default, Never a Blocked Request
An owner adding grooming at booking does not have to pick a specific service. If none is chosen, the request is created against the salon's own default active service, and staff correct it to whatever the family actually asked for when they pick up the request. The request itself is never blocked by a missing selection.
A Queue Staff Actually Work
Unassigned requests attached to a stay show up in the same queue as any other unassigned grooming request, sorted so the most urgent ones surface first. A request tied to a stay that ends today outranks one tied to a stay ending next week.
The Checkout Warning Is the Whole Point
Boarding checkout checks for a linked grooming request that is still sitting unassigned and warns staff before the stay closes out. Without that warning, a family requests a bath, nobody picks it up, and the dog goes home exactly as dirty as it came in.
The warning does not block checkout and it does not change how a normal boarding checkout works when there is no grooming attached. It only appears when there is something to actually flag.
Grooming Still Writes Its Own Invoice
A groom attached to a stay bills on its own invoice. It is never appended to the boarding invoice as an extra line. The price, the size band, and any add-ons come from the same catalog every other grooming appointment uses.
Once Assigned, It Is Just a Grooming Appointment
Staff can search stay-linked requests by the stay they belong to, so a checkout drawer or a stay lookup can pull up exactly the request tied to that reservation. Once a groomer and a time are assigned, the appointment moves through Confirmed, In Progress and Ready for Pickup the same as any groom booked on its own, with the stay link still attached for reference.
One Pet Record Underneath It All
The dog checking in for boarding is the same pet record as the dog getting groomed. Vaccination status, handling notes and owner contact details do not get re-entered because the request happened to start on the boarding side.
